Dr. Archana Rajan

Dr. Archana Rajan is an orthodontist at Great Lakes Family Dental Group. Dr. Rajan received a Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, Ann Arbor, MI. Dr. Rajan also earned a Master of Science in Orthodontics from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, Ann Arbor, MI. In addition to education, Dr. Rajan completed a General Practice Residency at the University of Toledo Medical Center and received her Master in Public Health from Northern Illinois University. 

"My philosophy is to treat patients like my own family, always maintaining the highest standard of care and integrity. I am very fortunate to be in the orthodontic field where we can transform smiles and create a lasting effect on each individual, while improving occlusion and functionality. I have been involved in research during my years at school and have published articles in the field of orthodontics. My master’s thesis involved stem cell research and looking at the efficacy of using stem cells in craniofacial defects. The goal of this project was to explore newer treatment methodologies and to evaluate its benefits, in patients with larger craniofacial defects like cleft lip and palate patients or trauma patients. I strongly believe in participating in orthodontic continuing education courses to keep updated on the newer methodologies, throughout the year. Whether it is digital technological enhancements or the latest in treatment methods."

Dr. Rajan lives with her husband, Sumant, who is a general dentist and they have two children, Aryan and Alayna. They are both ardent Wolverine fans. When not at work her time is devoted to her family. Hobbies include arts, gardening, playing tennis, and outdoor activities.
