Dr. Kishawn Kole-James

After receiving his Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Michigan in 1999, Dr. Kishawn Kole-James pursued postgraduate studies at Wayne State University and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry. He then went to work - following his passion and dream of helping his community. 

“There is a need to provide quality dental care in my hometown of Detroit and help the underserved area of orthodontics in the area,” he says. 

Dr. Kole-James was the Dental Director for three clinics at Detroit Community Health Connection, received his Orthodontics Degree from Howard University in 2016, and served as an adjunct instructor at the U-D Mercy School of Dentistry (2011-2013). He is married to his beautiful wife of 15 years, pharmacist, and stock options trainer, Dr. Uchenna Kole-James. They have two wonderful boys, Samuel (12) and Emmanuel (10). Dr. Kole-James continues building on 10 years of general dentistry practice to augment his orthodontic skill set and his comfort level with local anesthesia, scalpels, sutures, and oral surgery, skills that set him apart from many other orthodontists.
